    Angry Warranty/Dealer Problem

I was washing my 2012 si coupe and I found one of my splash guards was loose. I removed it and examined it to find that it seems to be missing a pin or screw at the bottom. I contacted the dealer and they stated "splash guards are not covered under warranty, they fall under fit and finish". They transferred me to the parts department who gave me a price to replace the part, however he stated "shouldn't that be covered under warranty?". Well at this point I'm not sure what is going on- it is my understanding that all Genuine Honda accessories are covered by a 1yr warranty. I guess I'll head over there and talk to them in person because they were completely useless on the phone.

When I went in they were helpful after pointing out that if anything is damaged the warranty is void. It turns out a clip is missing or was not properly installed and fell off. Apparently they don't have the part in stock, so I have an appointment on Saturday to fix it.

As long as the part was installed by the dealer/factory I can't see why it wouldn't be covered. I would go down and raise hell for the poor service, especially when there are people in the showroom looking to buy. That typically gets there attention and makes them do anything to get you to go away. Good luck.

They were dealer installed, supposedly they put splash guards and wheel locks on all cars with alloy wheels. Thank you for your support, your post is exactly what I was hoping to hear.

If they won`t do anything contact Honda. That will usually change the dealers tune.
If you`re driving a 2 door or an SI, odds are, I built it for ya.

Call a different dealer and see what they say....maybe you will get a better answer. then you can really raise hell with the original dealer!

I work for Honda. And your answer is yes unless its aftermarket. I couldn't see why the dealership wouldn't want to help you out with that. Thats just bad customer relations.
