Well at least it has been more-or-less confirmed that the CTR will not come with a CVT option. There was a large misinterpretation which started the rumor. I guess we'll just have to wait another 1.5 years to actually find out.

The same thing if they use the 2.0L, same out come. I can believe that Honda would go with a 2.4L T for the Si, Rather the VP was talking the truth, I dunno, we will see.

Why would the Si be a 2.4L turbo when the Type R is a 2.0L turbo? Anyways, it's been confirmed in the Si unveiling that it will be a 1.5L turbo. This is somewhat disappointing for the Si in my opinion. Even if it puts out 220hp, which it sounds like it will, it doesn't do enough to separate from the Civic Sport.

Subaru's WRX CVT is slower than the 6MT version. 0-60 in 5.5s vs. 4.8s, as tested by C&D. Gas mileage in the CVT is also worse. With the WRX having a high torque engine, I think the power loss through the CVT is too much for the more optimal gearing to overcome.
