I thought I could get away without using the spacer...no dice. It is needed for clearance. I think the 8th gens got away with it but I did not see how the pulley would clear without it.

you have to use the spacer if you don't want to slightly bend the line.

I just bent it out of the way and it clears perfectly fine without the spacer.

What size pulley are you running? I could not see a way to get the charger onto the manifold with the line in place.

You make a very valid point. Maybe that's why Vit didn't use the spacer either, his brother had the 2.95 pulley.

I'll plan to have a shop discharge the AC and I'll install the spacer. (3.6")

I am using a 3.6" pulley. There are numerous ppl who have installed this without using the AC spacer with a 3.6" pulley by slightly bending the line. If you don't want to bend the line, it is impossible.

Did you bend the line with it still attached to the compressor (ie: you did not discharged the ac?)

That's correct. It doesn't need a ton of persuasion.

yes sir. I just unbolted all the brackets that bolted it to the frame and lightly bend it. It is VERY easy to bend

+1 for just slightly bending the line. I'm running the 3.6" pulley, have had it in for about 6 months without any rubbing issues. Didn't need to discharge the AC or anything.
