Put some new shoes on, but thinking about stripping the paint and going back to the original alloy finish though, let me know your thoughts

They don't look bad, goes with the blackout theme you have going. Didn't you have steelies on it before?
Whenever I'm suffering from Insomnia, I just look at a picture of a Toyota Camry and I'm straight off.

I did yeah, finally got my hands on some alloys saved me about 4.5 lbs per wheel so 14 lbs or so unsprung weight which I can feel already. If I do keep the black though I’ll be painting them as right now there just plasti-dip and I really don’t like the dull finish

I think they make a high gloss clear for plasti dip as well.

Would I have to reapply the base coat before using the glossifier?

No. Just make sure you clean it really good before applying it.
