    supadupamel’s 2014 Coupe Project

Hey guys! I have been visiting this page since I first got my civic in 2017. I really wanted to make a page where people could follow my build. It’s nothing crazy a little 2014 Civic LX Coupe, but I absolutely love it.

I am going to do a quick summary of what I done so far to the car. This is the first day of ownership. I was pretty excited as this is my first car. Bought it when I was still in school.

First “mod” I did was changing the look of the steering wheel. I’m new to all this so I wanted to do something pretty easy at first. Grabbed this off Amazon it was under $20 and installed some interior lights from Amazon. I wanted to change the look. When I did this it made the car look much nicer at night.

Eventually wanted to get more badges on so first one I tried was the front. It was actually a bit tricky, but eventually I got it. I debated on getting a “genuine” one from Corsport, but decided not to and got these eBay ones. I think they are worth it personally. I waited a while to get the rear badge as I wanted to test out and see if getting one from eBay would be worth it.

Once I start doing these little additions to my car I wanted to do more. I grabbed these reverse led headlights off eBay. They were about $11. Although I feel they look nice I’m not sure if I would recommend it because the install was a little tricky. The headlights were definitely not meant for my car. Regardless I made it work.

Next thing I did was get a short ram intake. I debated back and forth with getting a SRI or a cold air intake. I went with the SRI as it was cheaper. Most shops were asking about $200 to install. Decided to get some help in installing it from some friends. So far after a year of having it there is a difference with it being stock in regards to the “noise” level. Personally I knew performance wise it wouldn’t make much of a difference. One of my favorite mods for the car is the SRI.

My most recent addition to my car that I got a few months back was my first set of rims. I really hated having the ugly hubcaps on my car so I worked hard to get these babies. I got lucky and was able to get them on sale.

Just ordered some coverking seat covers. I got a crappy set of seat covers from advanced auto parts I want to replace. Also want to spice up the interior and upgrade the cloth trims, etc.

    Welcome to 9th gen.

I, too, have an LX coupe, and I love it, as well. In fact, I just purchased the car off the end of my lease.

Just a word on that new air cleaner setup. You're pulling a lot of hot air into the engine, which is not the best thing, power-wise, and we don't have a lot to spare. It may not matter to you, but just so you're aware.

Hi! Thanks for the sound advice. When we installed it we realized this would be problematic. I don’t think the SRI gives any power gains and I noticed the car has not gotten “better” with having the SRI. I’m not sure if I made the best decision in getting one for a LX. As you said we can’t hold much power. It’s definitely a lesson learned.
