    Cleaning the engine.

    I was wondering should I cover anything up before spraying degreaser/water on my engine?

    Battery terminals, alternator, fuse box, and any exposed grounding if possible.

    I know a lot of people use evergreen, or just dish soap. I've seen some people do a light powerwash, but something about that never made me feel comfortable :P

    I'm pretty sure you want to cover your filter box as well.

    Nah, the filter box is sealed. Just cover the intake where it sucks air in. Here's a 8th gen thread to clean the engine Detailed my Engine - 8th Generation Honda Civic Forum. Enjoy
