Will Honda work on improving their transmission?

Honda's 8th generation Civic Si coupe had a few too many problems with the 6MT transmission such as resistance going into 2nd and/or 3rd gear, grinding, transmission kicking out/popping out into neutral from 3rd, and some not so common problems. Also other models from Honda have transmission problems.
Do you think the 9th generation civic will have similar problems, or if Honda will even work on improving their bad transmissions?

Its hard to say if the 9th gen will have the same problems but I am sure Honda will be working on fixing these issues to help keep the customer base they have. Honda is known to be one of the best in the market, keeping that rep is priority to them.

if this helps, for the 2012 Honda Civic they will have 3 different transmissions available:
    - CVT ( continuously variable transmission )
    - Automatic transmission
    - 6 speed manual transmission

I have a 2008 4dr Si and have resistance going into 3rd gear unless the car has been driven a # of miles, ie thoroughly warmed-up(like 10+ miles). The car has never been speed shifted or driven hard, by most people's standards. It has 29,000 miles, is not in the re-call range(serial # wise) for this problem. My salesman says it does seem to have a problem but the mechanics at the dealership say it isn't bad enough to do anything: that it's relatively normal. I have gotten some Amsoil Synthetic Trans Fluid but haven't put it in yet. Probably will tomorrow. This reluctance to smoothly engage 3rd gear has been my only complaint with the car, except wishing it had the 240 hp k24 out of the later S2000s. Ideas on this trans problem???

How about the 5 speed manual, are they dropping it?

90% made in China and Thailand, but assembled in the US.

    Check the press release

All-New 2012 Honda Civic Emphasizes Style, Fuel Economy and Performance - Honda.com

In the Si section they do emphasize a "new 6-speed manual transmission."
So one would suspect that Honda is trying to address this long run issue.

As posted repeatedly by others on 8th Gen Civic, the Amsoil manual transmission fluid helped my transmission significantly. I think this is what the transmission should have come with originally.
