    car clicks when turning ignition

    Hello all,

13 SI been having trouble for some time now when i turn the key i just get a click. It was rare but has been happening more often recently. I went to Autozone, Advance, and O'Reilly's all of them say the battery, alternator, and starter is fine. I took all the extra keys off my ring to see if it was weighing on the ignition but it still happens. I have checked the cables running to the battery and the positive was a little lose but i have tightened it and made sure the battery was charged but it continues to happen. I am kind of at a lose here. I have a spare at the house i am going to try to see if maybe something is wrong with the key itself but outside of that I'm just not sure.

to add all dash lights and headlights stay lit up

No big deal, it's hard to jump on a forum and figure out the etiquette. As far as your problem, seems like the normal items have been checked, this is normally a battery issue. You may have had it load tested, but have to ask. Battery can show good voltage but cant provide needed current for starting. Past that, I've heard of the below link issue but have no experience, you may want to research it a bit. I seem to remember reading a option to disable this with Hondata, but i couldn't find a link quickly.

Curious what happens if you try jumper leads? Push starting (good reason to save the manuals)? Either of these working is a good indicator that there's a battery or alternator problem.

I thought about trying those but it's hard to say if they will help as the car will start fine 10 times in a row then won't one or two times then will again like nothing is wrong

I don't have to charge the battery or anything to get it to work just keep trying and it will

I had this same issue for awhile. Car would randomly just click and not even turn over at all. I went to AutoZone too , and they said my battery and alternator were fine as well. Got a new battery anyway and never had any issues since, turned out to be battery. Is your battery from factory? Any aftermarket electronics (speakers, sub?)

It's a duralast gold from them. I was thinking about getting a battery anyway but I do have a 1,100W RMS amp and 2 subs. It's hard to find a good battery that I can at least listen to the radio at night with

I merged the two threads and deleted repetitive posts. Glad you realized and caught it.

Yeah man i have a sub too but not that powerful of a setup and i assumed thats what was kiling my battery. Duralast Gold from Honda? or Autozone? But yeah i would make sure your lead connectors are nice and tight and there isnt a connection issue there, and then change the battery if those are fine

It's from autozone. I thought I had an issue with the positive terminal being loose but I got one of those terminal cap things and it's super tight now. Charged it and same issue.

Probably going to go to autozone and make a scene u til I get a new battery haha
