    When the light first comes on, there is usually around 2 gallons left. That's been the standard for all cars with these lights since forever.

    yeah i just filled up yesterday and its about 11 when empty.

    Yea I was able to drive 50 miles after the low fuel light came on (and filled 11.5 gal of gas).

    yeah thats about a right, the tank is 45L and i filled up with 1 bar left 41L....

    Wow, thanks for the responses. I had a feeling it was a reserve space, but I actually had hoped the iMID would've been more accurate.Though I'm just glad it doesn't juggle numbers when low on gas :P

    isn't the tank 50L? having the car almost 2 months, every time i filled 43 litre

    The fuel tank does hold 50L on Canadian 2012 Civic's.

    As already stated, there is about 8-10L (~2gal) left in the tank when the light comes on. But don't expect to be able to use all of that fuel. See here:
