I own a 2013 Civic EX-L with Navi and climate control AC
I purchased the car new. It currently has 160,000 trouble free miles on it.
Recently I noticed that the AC in my car is acting erratically. It will start off ice cold as it has always run.
Then after a while--the AC air becomes warmer and warmer--it is still air flow from the AC unit but it gets warmer.I keep turning down the temperature but it doesn't improve the coldness of the AC by very much at all.
Then I will stop the car and park for a while ( like 30 minutes or so) and when I get back in the car--the AC will work perfectly again--sometimes for the rest of the day; sometimes for just a few miles then it repeats the warming cycle.
Around town it will work perfectly sometimes. Other times it struggles to cool.
Does anyone have any ideas what may be wrong with my AC?
I am trying to avoid going to a mechanic that will want to replace the entire system when possibly a repair (IE: Sensor or expansion valve or tube of some sort) may repair the issue.
Any and all feedback will be greatly appreciated.
I love my little car and want to keep it running as it has always run--like new!
Thank you again!
