Ive been out of this community for long enough that i figured id post a new member thread. I just purchased a 2013 ilx with the 2.4 and the manual trans for a steal that i couldnt turn down. So technically im not a 9th genner, but close enough I hope. Anyone here remember me?

Welcome to the boards. ILX in a manual? Bet that wasn't easy to find.

Thanks. believe it or not it popped up all ov 45 minutes from me. it was the only one within a 75 mile search radius on carfax or autotrader with the k24z7 motor/6 speed manual. everything else is the regular 2.0 auto that i saw. i got rid of my 13 SI sedan several years back, was driving around in a 2011 scion xb with an equally hard to find 5 speed manual until some jacka$$ in a ford raptor cut around my while i as going 85 trying to pass a big rig and made me skid like i've never skid before. i thought for sure it was going to be like those russian dashcam videos where you skid then roll roll roll. But I got lucky and immediately started looking for a sportier/ more stable car without the aerodynamics of a library and 205 55 16 tires haha. just by luck stumbled upon the ILX. Only problem with the ilx is I cant seem to think of a good name for it...
i had talked myself out of buying a used SI because i dont want something pre beaten on that has a questionable history when it came to modifications, etc. the ilx i found is bone stock and drives like brand new and its close enough to an SI for me. like an si in a suit, minus the limited slip diff :-(

random revival of an old thread, but figured id pop in on the forum and say hi. I settled on a nickname for the ILX bt the way, her name is SNOOKIE. she is from jersey, she it kind of ugly, but i still like her ha. i've thrown a few or my old parts on that i still had from my 13 si (im still kicking myself for selling my flashpro). mainly a wide selsction of nice shift knobs i swap out every month or so to keep things feeling new and different. my takeda intake (still have a PRL short ram for when i decide it is time to tune again) and my catted RV6 downpipe. id eventually like to do a small lip spoiler, lower the car, and paint my wheels. unsure of what color i want to do on a silver car though. thinking a dirty bronze or a gunmetal.

Can't go wrong with either wheel color, brushed silver also looks nice. Nice to know i'm not the only one who rotates shift knobs on a monthly basis. Glad you are still enjoying the ILX. Bet it will look killer lowered with some wheels.

because i was an idiot. My wife is sub 5 foot. her stumpy little legs couldn't comfortably push the clutch to the floor, so after many many years (in previous cars too) trying to teach her to drive stick. i literally got rid of it to get something easier for her to drive stick in. for a 2016 scion IM that she "helped me pick out".. pearl white 6 speed. much closer pedals. so we went out driving every weekend until she got comfy and once she was proficcient we sold her car (an 05 matrix) and i got a veloster R spec for myself, gave her the scion IM... then we got preggo and she couldnt drive stick.. so we traded her scion IM for an 07 acura RDX. THEN shortly after, my wife read an article about the fact that the safest place to install a car seat is in the center seat in the rear since it it furthest from the doors.. just incase, since i would live with crazy guilt if anything happened while my daughter was in the veloster (had no center rear seat so she would have to be by a rear door) i traded it for the ILX. i wanted my SI back, but buying a used SI is sketchy in my eyes since theyre so commonly modified badly and beaten on... so when i found the ILX with the 2.4 that is essentually an SI without the limited slip diff.... for a STEAL aka it was 3 days from going to auction because it was sitting on their lot for too long. i honestly prefer my ILX in that it is like an SI in a grown up suit. and she is pre uglied so im not worried about my daughter ruining my perfect SI interior. long story, but it was a long journey back to my honda roots haha. im back to stay.
