Your 8th gen is beautiful! What wheel/tire/suspension setup do you have on your 9th? I plan to try for a track day in mine sometime in january or february. Is it just me or does the radiator in the 9th seem a lil small to handle 15 minute sessions in summer heat? I have never been on a road course in a car, I look forward to it!
Tracking my car in 26 days! Stock . But at least this way I'll get a good baseline...and hopefully when I start adding upgrades...I can see the lap times go down in the future. Will post pics and maybe video soon.
I had my car on the track with less then 10K on it. If i didnt have azenis on the front my car would have been sliding everywhere. Brakes were so hot i warped my rotors. Matter of fact they are still warped haha
Hey so just joined the forum for the specific reason that I'm trying to figure out the best way to start tracking my 9th, I have tons of track experience however it's on street bikes so totally different beasts. Just wondering what you guys like or dislike about your 9th on the track. Mine is all stock daily commuter so just looking to have some fun.
I was at Button willow last week and Ken Suen from godspeed coil overs where testing some prototype coil overs for the 9th gens for open track day. He has 255's in the front and i think 235's in the rear, the rim was massive i think it was like an 18x9 rim. I have the 2014 fg4 and I have AutoX it a few times and have come to determine the stock tires are crap, the brakes are nice but the pads would be destroyed after a day at the track. I've been trying to slowly contemplate my first upgrades for track use but came to say its suspension, sway bars, Pads+slotted/ported rotors, hondata, oil cooler, add-ons, vit-tune, rims+tires, brakes calibers..

I plan to do my first track event in September or October at Buttonwillow with speedventures. I've been going for the last 5 years just to watch and will be going this Sunday. Hoping to see more 9th gens at the track.
I'm heading back to the track in 2 weeks and my entire brake system is pretty much shot from the last track day. Any recommendations for
1) Brake pads
2) Brake fluid
3) Brake lines
?
1) Brake pads - I run either Carbotech or EBC Yellows on my '92 SE-R track car. Both are great!
2) Brake fluid - I only use ATE (ATE Blue if you can find it... I just like the color:haysmiley
3) Brake lines - Goodridge SS Lines (make this the last thing you do. The OEM are fine...)
4) Rotors - OEM, Brembo, or ATE rotors.
On a budget too if thats possible - Nope, that is if you want it done right.
Did a little personal track testing one afternoon... Had a blast but realized the car needs a little help to get to that next level of handling. It has nowhere near the grip, handling, and tossability of my "92 Sentra SE-R so my Progress rear sway bar has been ordered.
iv literally had everything oem spec when iv tracked my car. first time i went i think my car had like 3000 kilos on it. front eas super grippy as i had some Azeni RT615Ks and the oem HFP tires in the rear. i cant wait to go back with ym coilovers and soon progress rear sway bar
