So i always went with 92/93+ but my buddys dad who is a master mechanic (not a honda mechanic) said i can run regular grade fuel and it won't damage my vehicle, so i tossed in a tank of regular. I seem to get a little less mileage but what concerns me is when I idle my car tends to shake harder than normal. Should I go back to running premium or is it safe to keep using regular? It saves me almost 30-50 cents a gallon... also, after shaking/knocking itll sometimes idle very quiet, like you cant even tell the engine is running

Go back to what Honda recommends and what it saids in your owner's manual which is at least 91octane. 87octane can cause engine knock which can damage your engine over time and will cost you alot more than what your saving now.

Honda doesn't tell you to use 91 octane because they feel like it. Is your friend's Dad willing to pay the repair bills when 87 eventually screws up your car? Sure, the car will run, but at what long term price?
