I'm purchasing these steel wheels with snow tires from someone that had it on an 8th gen civic but all the talk about the 8th gen SI wheels not clearing the calipers is having me worried. I read on some threads saying that 16 steelies would fit but I wasn't sure if it they came from a 2012 Civic or an older gen.

Anyone can save me 2 hours trip and let me know if these would fit my car?

Can't say for sure but i understand older civic steel wheels will not clear the new civics, because the 2012 si has a bigger caliper, i just bought oem 2008 accord rims 16x6 1/2, tried one today and they will clear. $60.00 new from dealer

Yeah, I read that the 8th gen Si rims would not clear our 9th gen but 16 inch steelies would clear our brakes. Kinda weird considering the 8th gen si rims are 17 inch and the steelies are 16 inch. Probably the way they designed it, but I heard we can just use spacers to clear the brakes?

16's help reduce the price of the tire, "low profile" tires seems to be more money as opposed to larger chunkier tires.
