Are they still keeping the k20 engine in the 2012 civic or is there something new to look forward too? I love my civic as much anyone does but sometimes I'm left wanting a faster motor.....
I heard from some people that Honda will stop selling the Civic in its motherland, Japan! If this is true, can someone confirm this for me? Where else will it continue or stop selling?
Yup. Its true. Unfortunately the Civic sells well everywhere except Japan. At first they were only going to stop sales of the gas powered sedan and still keep the hybrid version. But really weak sales forced them to stop sales of all Civic models all together. Found this article on Autoguide about this.
Didn't expect that to happen in Japan, I hope the civic sells well everywhere else. I know they will have luck in the North American market where you see them almost EVERYWHERE, old and new.
Thanks for posting the article link to autoguide, good read.
For the longest time cars like the Toyota Corolla, Ford Focus, Chevy Cobalt/Caviler, Nissan Sentra and more alike have been the Civic's competition. With manufactures coming out with new/redesigned/improved models for the next year or two, what cars will the all new 2012 Civic have to compete against in the market once it comes out?
2012 Honda Civic Spied Fully Exposed While Testting in Dubai -Video- !!
I've been waiting to see spy pic's or video for sometime now, not much for pictures but even better.... a video! found it on autoguide.com , awesome site
For those interested in seeing the 2012 honda civic upclose and personal. It will debut at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show on January 15-23 2011, dont miss out! I might go to the show.
good luck trying to find that now, im sure they will release an official release date after the civic debuts at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show. Most likely it will be out late 2011 to early 2012.
from how i see it the Chevy Cruze will be the civic's biggest competition, im in the market for a new car but the last few years a lot of manufactures have been slacking. 2011 is a year we will see a lot of newer and better cars in the market. The Chevy Cruze will make a BIG impact after all its cheap, looks amazing, has all the options you can ask for in a compact sedan, FUEL EFFICIENT (big plus).
As much as i like the Cruze, I'm a big honda fan and waiting on the all new 2012 civic to debut and be released so i can better compare the two for myself. Who knows i might buy a cruze instead of a civic.
too bad for me i live thousands of miles away from Detroit. I live in Canada. Hopefully Honda will have it at the 2011 Canadian International Auto Show
from all the news ive seen about the new civic there hasnt been any mention of a new engine being developed. i think its safe to assume it will still be the same motor. at best they might have some improvements on it to give it a small power bump.
What do you want to see Honda put into the new 2012 Honda Civic Si?
I want Honda to make the Civic Si a lot more sportier looking, with more performance and options yet still being affordable. Things such as a bigger 4 cylinder engine that's a 2.2 or 2.4, sunroof, power everything, optional GPS, a sportier looking interior. Nothing too crazy at all to keep the price down.
However I do what them to offer a Honda Factory Performance version of the 2012 Civic Si that has Recaro seats, 2.4 liter engine with increased performance (maybe a turbo?) then the regular Si, GPS, power everything, stiffer suspension, big brembo brakes, lighter then the regular Si, and a performance wheel and tire setup.
This doesn't look much different then the 8th gen civic, hopefully we can see some real life production model photos soon. What do you guys think about it?
when the 2012 honda civic comes out, what color will you want to get?
I'm not sure of the exact names of the colors offered with the 2012 civic, but in Honda's past and present line up, white has always looked good!
From these photo's, it looks like Honda made the 9th generation Civic a bit bigger then the 8th generation, yet I was hearing Honda wanted to make them smaller.
