Other than what you already mentioned theres not really a difference between the 12 and 13. Now with the 14-5 models is where they started doing some changes. I dont have a sedan but ive got a 12 coupe and ive loved it.Hey Everybody,
I know this topic has been discussed quite a lot but I can't find the answers to my questions in the posts that I search
I am in the market for a civic si and i been reading about 8th and 9th gen civics for a month now and I got a pretty good idea of the differences, I decided I want a 9th gen since its just newer and has more torque.
I am on a pretty tight budget and found a 2012 civic SI Sedan that is a pretty good price compared to all the 2013+ civics
To anybody who has owned both 2012 and 2013 civic SI can you please be honest and let me know how big the differences between them is? I really don't care about the new materials used in the dash and the slightly different look on the exterior, I still think the 2012 looks perfectly fine to be honest. The things I am more worried about is road noise and handling. Is there a night and day difference between the 2012 and 2013 for road noise and handling? I also remember reading that they used stiffer panels to make the body more rigid on the 2013.
The 2012 i am looking at is such a good deal and if the differences are minimal I will most likely just buy it but if there is actual big differences then I will have to wait and keep my eye out for a 2013, hoping somebody can help me make this decision <img src="http://www.9thgencivic.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.png" border="0" alt="" title="Smile" class="inlineimg" />
I really think its a rarity cause i havent had that issue luckilyi THINK....some early '12 models had an issue with oil consumption/burning. it was rectified later in the model year and the 13's don't have it at all.
other than cosmetics, they are mechanically the same.
