Starting from stop there is a little hesitation through the first three gear changes.
Power and acceleration is still there once it finally connects.
It has stalled at a stop sign after pressing on the accelerator and coming out of reverse into drive.

This problem has been present throughout this past month.

Had check engine light and did diagnostic telling me there was a problem with my egr valve (which is replaced now), but the problem still persists.

My top idea is some sort of transmission problem, but its not behaving nor does it sound like the transmission is going bad.

Just a novice so any discussion or explanation is very helpful.

Could be a bad/sticking solenoid. Mine has a hesitation shifting between P, R, N, D. It takes a solid 1.5 sec to 2 sec to shift into R or D. The service manual says it's a bad shift solenoid E. I have the replacement on hand, just need to replace it.

No hesitation anywhere else. Did you check your trans fluid level? When's the last time you did a drain and fill on the trans?

I was thinking the same thing check your AT transmission fluid see if it is dirty. Old AT fluid can cause rough shifts. Probably best to do a drain and fill anyways since AT fluid is cheap and see what happens.
