While driving i hit a pop hole then afterwards my car started to rev high with low power output. Smelled like a burn clutch while trying to get home my clutch stopped working. I'm assuming my clutch went out i'm the second owner had it for 4 1/2yrs roughly 8/9k miles per year mainly traveling to work and visiting friends. I know I have a base model so I wasn't driving it like a SI. Oddly enough I also started to get a weird whine on start up near the pulley side of the car.

Just wondering if I should buy a clutch and tow it to a garage. Tryna to get a head space of the amount of money I'll be spending and If I should possible look into getting a transmission or rebuild.

Car shifts fine I and enter all gears with no issues.

My main issue is it went out so suddenly I fear my transmission may be bad too. Just looking for some direction & input before taking to a shop and what to expect. Sadly I've done all fluid changes but the transmission It was pre owned car bought from dealership I was told basic maint* was done. Only driven roughly 35K miles all together since owning it

Without knowing how the previous owner treated the car (trans) it's really hard to to say.

Unfortunately you're just going to have to take it in to get looked at.
