While SEMA isn’t exactly known as the place to unveil new vehicle models, Honda did exactly that this morning in Las Vegas, debuting its 2014 Honda Civic Coupe.

For the 2013 model year, the Civic sedan got a quick redesign after the ninth-generation Civic launch didn’t go as smoothly as Honda had hoped. The coupe model however, was left untouched. For the 2014 model year, Honda gave its Civic coupe a transformation, featuring a more aggressive front end and a more stylish design in the rear. That updated Civic coupe along with its performance-oriented Si had their covers pulled off this morning at the 2013 SEMA Show.

The Si model also gets Si-exclusive design cues, including a unique lower front bumper garnish, larger rear decklid spoiler, a distinctive front spoiler and sporty rear air diffuser. The Si sedan will also benefit from those changes, which also include larger 18-inch wheels and tires. The Japanese automaker will be releasing new wheel designs for both models.

Performance has also been bumped to 205 hp and 174 lb-ft of torque, with the Si models gaining 4 hp and 4 lb-ft of torque thanks to a retuned exhaust system.

Joining the 2014 Civic Si Coupe on the stage at the 2013 SEMA Show was a 2014 Civic Coupe EX-L equipped with a Honda Genuine Accessories aero kit and 18-inch wheels, the HPD Civic Si Coupe Race Car and the HPD Civic Street Performance Concept.

Wow looks horrible. Nice power boost. Wonder if it's enough to even notice.

Since I've only had my 2013 SI coupe for a few months, I was a little upset when I heard about the 2014 coupe face lift. After seeing these images, I can safely say that I'm no longer concerned. I absolutely love the back end, but the front is just awful. Reminds me of the front end of an Elantra.

Have to see it in person but I really like the looks of the front bumper and spoiler. The 18s are a bit odd. Definitely intriguing though.

I am a Honda guy all the way. I think it looks great. The ugliest civic ever is definitely the seventh gen si. I am relieved the performance upgrade was just something minor. The back end does look very nice.

I agree with you on the 7th si being the ugliest. It looks like a small minivan at times lol

I traded in my 2012 Si but I still like to keep up with new stuff from Honda. I love the back end of this redesign but I think they went a little too far with the front end...The current look of the coupe is fine...they could have just added projector headlights even as an option and maybe revised the fogs to be a line of LEDs and maybe a bit of change to the grill...but no...they went along with what everyone else is doing...large slabs of plastic on nose...

Increasing the wheel size is also a bit odd without changing the offset and ride height to make it a bit more proportional and less 4x4 status, maybe the article is talking about the hfp optional wheels. 18 inch wheels will probably negate any gains made by the exhaust system revision...

I think the wheels are weird and terrible. My tastes say the bigger the wheel, the more spokes you need to keep from looking like a gangsta. That 5-spoke design is ugly IMO. AS far as the power boost, meh, its way easy to net that small of a gain with simple stuff. Glad I have my 2012, its lighter. :eusa_dance:

Power gains- meh, I don't even think a butt dyno would feel the difference, may sound a little different. After seeing these pics I'm glad I bought a 13 Si coupe. Those wheels are hideous and look like a 8 year old power wheel specialist designed them and the front and rear look a little clustered or busy as someone stated earlier. I'd have to see it in person though before making a final assessment, wonder if the interior changed much?

Agreed. Looks like something found on a Prius or some other Japanese hybrid people mover.
