Hello all,

I have a 2014 Honda Civic EX Coupe 5 speed manual.

Yesterday I was driving the car and I was at an incline, I put it into first, started going, and my revs went very high with very little power. After the engine buzzed a few seconds I got power and the car went. This happened again shortly after. After that I got home no problem. Today I went for a drive and tried to replicate the problem and couldn't. Car drives great and pulls hard.

I was wondering if this is a sign of the clutch going bad already or is there a clutch adjustment that needs to be done?

The car has the 1.8 engine and has 75,000 km or 46,000 miles.

Thanks,

My guess is the clutch became over heated.
That could explain the symptom you experienced.

Slipping clutch discs would not be a result of a less than ideal clutch system. If anything, if the clutch system failed, or was not up to spec, the drivetrain would stay engaged, and not be able to disengage.
