And we're just starting!

we had a successful start to testing on the ‪‎VitTuned‬ Honda Civic R18 running our custom VitTuned MoTec‬ ‪M150‬ firmware package. The fuel system couldn't keep up and I had to cut the testing short, but everything went very smooth otherwise -- made 410hp & 330tq on 22psi of boost using an old PTE 5757 turbocharger (with a 2.5" downpipe at that).

The MoTeC firmware package we've developed brings a lot to what has been an otherwise neglected platform -- anti lag, closed loop boost control, boost by gear, closed loop lambda control w/ an LSU 4.9 wideband sensor (accurate even for full time closed loop in boost!), launch control, traction control, flat foot shift, rolling antilag... the list of features just goes on!

We'll be demoing some of the features after we get the fuel system upgraded to handle big power on this platform.

What is the intended use for this car? Under 5000 rpm it makes no more power than a stock Si. Don't get me wrong, after that point its like turbo vtec from hell occurs. I think with a more usable power band it would be a great sleeper.

Because it's something unique and it's the right parts. Not some eBay turbo kit. Not your "TSI" kit, not some "drop in cam" build or hella flush R18 build to think you're cool in a "dope" Civic. I love working on unique projects with of all kinds with friends and customers. It's a MoTeC powered R18... says a lot. I'd do another one any day of the week, but finding someone serious like this car's owner is hard on a K series 8th/9th gen, let alone another R18...

I've got 1500cc injectors and a bigger fuel pump on the way for this car. Going to get it sorted, fix the boost leaks we found on it, and crank it up some more. Also, this car has a track day soon, we'll see if the clutch holds with me leaving the line with the anti lag at 10psi.

After hearing so much Bullshit about the R18 that is all fuel econ and can never be a Performance motor, This gives me new hope for my 2013 Honda civic Ex!! I herd theres 3 different engines the R18A1, R18A2 and the R18Z1. I think mines a R18Z1 according to the sticker on my engine it reads R18Z1-3452235 anyone knows whats the diffrence!!

Ohh I think people took my comment seriously. I was jk. I have an r18 and people comment like that on other r18 threads lol
My fault then! Serves me right for commenting early in the morning.

I was thinking the same thing! While everyone is at it, they should go tell all the SOHC D series, Non-VTEC B series, and SOHC F series guys to just swap to a B18CX or H22AX. There clearly is no point in building them...

R18 aren't designed to be pushing any where near that kind of power so no wonder it would crack. Any engine that is pushed to those extremes something bad is going to happen sooner or later.

Nice setup guys.
I'm in a pickle and am wandering if anyone on this thread is up to a challenge?
I have a FK2 2013 with an R18Z4 motor and i want to take the ECU out of it and swap over with another models ECU so as to be able to program it easier. the Euro ECU does not allow mods.
Would anyone have any idea of would model civic or other that runs an R18Z4 model. mine is a manual also.

Check if ktuner is compatible with your ecu.
I checked and theyy'er not.
Thus why I'm looking to swap out the ecu for one that is. I am assuming that it's only the tune that's different as Europe would is very strict on emissions like California would be etc.
The issues is try to find an ecu to swap that would match up as informationonline is gard to find.if i was able to married the ktuner list to a model then could run from there.
I currently have the ktunet list and a V2. Now hunting for the right part.
