So I am buying a 9th gen si transmission with about 44,000 miles on it for 680. It's just a backup for when I ruin either my 8th gen or my 9th gens transmission, whatever comes first. This is really cheap so I want to get it before it sells since its only 10 miles from me. My question is, will everything work and hook up just like an 8th gen tranny? I don't care about the slightly taller 3rd gear as that is the only difference between them as far as I know.

and from what I've read, you can use the K20 trans on the K24 and the K24 trans on the K20 no problem. I haven't confirmed for myself though.

Dang,is he located around chicago like you? And also why are 8th gen transmissions on average 200 dollars more expensive? At every salvage yard they are 200 dollars more for transmissions with sometimes 100,000 miles rather than a 9th gen with 40k.
