Currently own 2012 Honda Civic Ex with 100k miles. A/C recently started acting weird. First start up, the A/C will work and blow cold air. After driving 5-10 mins, the A/C will turn off. Clutch will disengage and won’t turn back on. After 1-2 hours of sitting, the A/C will work again but same thing, 5-10 mins will shut off.
A/C relay been replace.
A/C recharge been completed. Now has the correct amount of charge by Professional.
Power is getting through to the compressor.
Both fans working perfectly fine.
Any ideas what it can be?

Also, I’ve had the car run an hour on idle with the A/C on, had no problems. Only shuts off if I’m driving or holding RPM at 4K for 20-30 sec and than will stop working. Almost like the compressor overheating and turn it’s self off.

Have you checked the clutch gap? Could be that when it heats up the gap expands and disengages the clutch.
Or it could be a high pressure cutoff. Maybe a blockage is causing high pressure.
