I've been noticing that when it is hot outside (95F) and I'm playing with the car (keeping the car at around 4000 rpm, accelerating / decelerating a lot - but NOT revving too high), the AC compressor stops kicking in for a while. Once I drive tamed, and turn AC on / off, it starts working again.

Is this normal? Is the ECU trying to protect the compressor? Anyone regularly experience this?

Thank you.

Normal. The ecu cuts the compressor over a certain rpm.
As long as the ac is working normally otherwise, there is nothing to worry about.

I just learned this myself a few weeks ago. Really helpful feature. I’ve seen guys blow their compressors at autoX events cause they’re trying to cool off in staging and forget to shut it off.

Interesting. A few times my ac has cut out while cruising on the highway. This probably explains it.
