i thought i recall the manufacturer has to provide replacement parts for up to 7 years past production...

But, I'm still baffled as to why that part was discontinued... with a dead end.
The parts catalog available on Honda Service Express shows the discontinued part number with a note to see dealer.
No reference to PN 79500-TR0-A01ZB was found.

I think the issue is most of the online catalogs that the consumer gets to use does not include all the info the actual dealer version can tell us.

Dealer catalog lists 79500-TR0-A01ZF as the part number (left column), then in the description it says
"CONTROL ASSY., HEATER *NH1L*(BLACK) (NA USE ALT: 79500-TR0-A01ZB)"

So the A01ZF number is not available, and we are to use the A01ZB instead. Simple, yes? LOL

So whats the difference between the 79500-TR0-A01ZF and the 79500-TR0-A01ZB?

No difference an installer would care about, and they don't tell us why the part number changed in the catalogs. As Teeps said, it could be a vendor change or it could be some improvement. We may never know.

The service express cat only says see dealer.
The real concern is why the main frame parts system did not show a super secession chain to the ZB part.

The part is available so it's all good...

I did not look in service Express, I've really only used SE when IN goes down for whatever reason.
(I didn't even realize there was a parts catalog there. I'll have to poke around that site more often.)

* Seems like it. The SE parts screen is all I have access to since AHM revoked my iN privileges when my login expired 45 days after I retired.

** Typical of Honda that their different computer systems do not seem to interact with one another... Explains a lot now that I have said it out loud.
As does the parts main frame system when that part number is entered.

Just find a specialist and repair it because this is the best solution, instead of trying to fix it yourself and then make the situation worse and end up having to take another new air conditioner. I say this from my own experience because I did this nonsense a year ago and I was sorry. I called socool.sg but it was already late. Because I didn't turn to them from the beginning, I ruined everything.
