Hi! This is my first day on the forum and I'm looking for some advice on tires and wheels. I'm looking at some forged wheels, preferably 16" for gas mileage. I'm moving from stock 15" steelies, 195/65/15. I'm thinking of 205/60/16 with the new forged wheels.

Hopefully I'll save or have equal weight by moving to alloys. But I'm not sure about oversizing or rubbing issues. If anyone could help me out, I would appreciate it. Thanks
Could you please tell us what vehicle you have. Is the suspension stock or modified at all?

Rubbing can depend on many factors including ride height, wheel width and offset.

The tire size you mention is about 3% larger than stock. While there shouldn't be any problems, 205/55/16 would be a better match to the stock tire diameter.

He most likely has an LX or DX, as they are the only models that can have 15s from the factory..

I went up one size on my 16s, to 205/55-16, and have no issues at all on stock suspension.

Hello everybody. was looking into the Konig hypergrams 17X8 +45 / and the +35. Eventually looking into a big break kit for the track. Was wondering if any of these sizes would clear the caliper? Please let me know if anybody has any input on this one. Thanks

Cheers,

I would think that the lower offset would give more clearance for brakes. But the answer will likely depend on the exact brake setup you run. Each caliper could be different so it would be hard to give you an exact answer.

Thanks for the reply. Well I was possibly thinking of doing the Acura OEM brembo setup or an alternative way out like buying the stop tech kit. Already have the street kit with hawk pads and I know eventually I’ll work my way up to the bigger setup but just wanted to make sure it wouldn’t be a problem. I know rpfs have a decent amount of clearance. The car will always be setup for aggressive camber and will only be using the wheels on track.

Hey guys,

I'm thinking of getting these Motegi (MR131) wheels for the summer (2013 Si Sedan). I'm wondering if anyone is running a 17x8 with a +40mm offset and can tell me what tire size they went with? I'm leaning more towards the meaty tire look/flush setup and I'm also on stock suspension.

Cheers!

Those wheels will fit fine whether you rub or not depends on your drop and size of tire.

You will rub on the rear if you lower more than 1.5 inches. You can get rid of rubbing by running -1.5 degrees of camber rear which is considered safe when aligning to factory specs. Fronts will rub a little, but camber bolts and setting camber to -1.5 you might rub during hard cornering.

You can also do away with all rubbing by going no lower the 1.4inches. I would get the ride height dialed in then focus on alignment. I had issues with my rear, but I rolled my inner fender lip about 2mm no joke and it solved all my issues. I wouldn't focus on rolling the fender lip flat, that's for hella flush fitment which is going out of style fast.

I'm running 17x8 et30 you are more aggressive than me I have a 1.5-inch drop rear 1.8 front.

Hi everyone I’m currently looking at getting some new wheels and trying to get an idea of what fitment will work best. I currently have a 2013 Si coupe and the wheels and tires I’m looking at are 17x9 +25 with a tire size of 235/45/17, 245/45/17 or maybe even 235/40/17. Has anyone had any issues with that size wheel and tire before? I plan on lowering my car but not slamming it and really would like to stay away from rolling fender but if it’s absolutely needed it is what it is. Any help would be appreciated!

Those wheel specs are aggressive and a 45 sidewall tire is pretty beefy on a Civic even with a 40 sidewall tire your 100% going to have to roll fenders at the very least don't be surprised you might have to trim the liners too and even than I'm not convinced it would fit without rubbing.

Finally putting in an order for wheels! Just wanted to clarify a few things before I do tho for peace of mind. Going for a 17x8 +35 setup w/ 225/45/17s. I'm aware some people are running the same setup but seeing mixed answers.

Will I rub after a 1.5" drop(H&R + TruHart Shocks)?
I think @Anklebite is running a similar setup if I recall but not sure if he has any fender modifications...

Do I require camber arms or can I get away without them?

You'll probably not rub. Camber arms won't hurt but you can get away without them you'll be driving with a bit of camber though.
