I tried to read the whole thing but didn't come across the info, if my 2015 Sis have factory navigation, am I pretty much SOL? Always thought that is an issue so I never looked further, just wondering if any of you who successfully installed the CRV units had factory navigation?

 

I installed it into my 2014 Civic EX-L with Navigation. No problems. I don’t know if there were any major changes from 2014 to 2015, but hope it helps.

 

They pop up occasionally.

 

Would this work for a 2015 civic si ? And would I be able to keep the factory carbon fiber trim ?

2014 EX-L coupe non nav. Loosen head unit to route wiring for current portable carplay. Piece of cake removing unit. 100% going to mod. Having problem finding 39101-T1W-A41 7 head unit. Finding tons of 391010-t1w-a01 6 head units. Can you use 39101-T1W-A01 non nav units for Mod?

 

You have to check the back of your current head unit to see if the number of plugs match up

I had ordered a headunit but for some reason it keeps saying “invalid serial number”. I’m not sure why but i returned it and ordered another one (this is my 3rd time trying) so hopefully everything goes well. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

I'm about ready to order the parts needed to install CRV Head Unit in my 2014 Civic EX, no NAV. Looking at the Head on eBay, my original Civic Head has an extra socket; the CRV unit I'm looking at doesn't have this socket. Wondering what it's for. Will this work ok in the 2014 Civic EX?

 

That’s for the amp. Wrong unit. There are multiple crv units but the biggest ones would be the number of plugs on the back. For an ex, you need the unit with 10 plugs

I need help. I did the mod with the CRV head unit. Car play works, radio and cd player work. But the CLOCK changes when the car is started. It changes on the info display and on the head. Anyone had this? Is it something with the interface between Civic and the head? Or is it a bad head unit? I've already had to send one head back. Guess I'll be sending this one back. Does the compass cable have anything to do with the clock? The compass cable is disconnected. Thanks.

 

Well, I might be giving up. I got the CRV head installed and upgraded to CarPlay wireless. Installed the wireless adapter from amazon. Two things that need to be fixed for my wife to accept it. The clock keeps changing and the handsfree microphone is very weak. If any suggestions, please send them my way. I did find a "buried menu" but nothing there for setting the clock time zone. See attached. Thanks.

EDIT: The microphone on handsfree has a continuous "wind noise" like a fan is blowing on the microphone. Turning the AC Fan off has no effect. Strange.

 

You have to go to the secret menu and adjust it. Change your time zone, etc.

Anyone have a fix for the wind noise on the handfree bluetooth mic? The driver doesn't realize it, but the person on the other end of the phone call definitely hears a lot of "wind noise". Turning the AC fan off has no effect. Maybe I have a defective unit??

 

Was the wind noise happening on the original unit?

 

No, none at all. I found several folks have reported the "wind noise" on Phone Calls in their CRV. Honda doesn't seem to be interested in repairing it.
