I have a 2014 civic ex-l. I have been reading many posts about brake light issues but have not found anything for my issue. The bulbs are good and so is the switch under the dash by the brake pedal. ONLY the driver side brake light does not light up when pedal is pushed. I’m assuming it may have something to do with this plug looking thing that is next to butch bulbs and from the same wiring harness. Just not sure what it is and haven’t figured out how to remove it without feeling like I’m gonna break something.

Taillights usually share a common ground so it's most likely power that is the issue. Pull the connector out and see if you have 12 volts at the brake light wire when the brakes are pressed.

edit: You can also leave the connector plugged in and see if there is 12 volts at the exposed pin when the brakes are pressed.
