Also, P.S. SRIs are great. Unless you have a turbo, a CAI is a waste of money compared to a SRI but hey thats just my .2
I wanna ask something about the SRI's, let's say I just did an RBC Manifold Swap to a Civic Si (13-15) and used a SRI and it starts to overheat after a long drive, would a CAI be a better option to help keep the Intake from overheating?

Takeda intake, no worries with hydrolock, it's an ice box type setup.
I can't compare to other intakes, I only have the Takeda, but it makes a big difference in mid range torque. As far as heat soak there is a noticeable difference when temps are 90+ but the stock intake heat soaked just as much at 90+.

Just my 0.02
I'm debating getting a takeda momentum intake for my 2013 Civic SI. How happy would you say you are with it? How's the sound, performance, and also do you have a tune? I will be tuning mine after I install it because it's getting put in the same time as my RV6 catted downpipe and catback exhaust so it needs to anyways. I live on the east coast and there's a lot of rain and unpredictable winters so this seems to be the only thing I can get that is better than a short RAM but not a full cold air intake where I need to worry about hydro lock. But I just want to make sure that it's actually worth it. I really wanted the K&n typhoon cuz of the sound alone but the heat seek seems too bad with that from what I've read. Looking for any information you can give me regarding your time with this intake

You don't need to worry about hydro lock with a CAI. I have the AEM intake that sits probably the lowest out of any CAI I have seen. I am boosted and in Florida with torrential downpours every day in the summer. If I don't have issues, I doubt anyone else would unless you try to drive through a flooded street which is dumb with any vehicle in the first place.

I promise you will not hydrolock with a CAI. I promise.

Lets dissect the CAI..

Okay. Here we have the intake.
Now imagine some water being splashed onto that filter. A full 5 gallon bucket if you will.
Even with the engine pulling at its HARDEST, VTEC roaring, it is literally impossible for even a ounce of water to be sucked past the filter, let alone up the entire tube through maybe 5 bends.
The majority of the water will fall away from the filter and only what has attached to the outside will be sucked in.

The only way to hydrolock via a CAI is to use your intake as a straw and dip your front end a foot into a lake. If you do so, your CAI is the least of your worries.

It wont hydrolock, even in Florida during the rainy season. You're good bro.
