So I’m thinking of getting a ktuner soon and I want to load a crackle tune in but I’m pretty sure it’ll blow out the inner filling of the cat, if it does would the motor be fine or would it throw a check engine light?

I'd assume that if the inner filling deteriorates, you'll get a CEL for the cat failing. :p While I don't think a crackle tune is going to mess with your engine, i'm willing to bet your exhaust will take a beating. It's just something to keep in mind.

I think you sort of know that this isn't a good idea and are just looking for validation. This type of map causes intentional misfires... What do you think will happen over time?

But it's your car at the end of the day and you'll just have to accept any consequences that come along. If you do go through with it, have fun fouling spark plugs!
