Hey guys, I was wondering if removing shrouds from your wheel well can prevent salt getting trapped in between and would be better for rust prevention?

That will cause more problems than you want .. including rocks hitting the underside of the fenders and denting them .. Most new cars are designed where water will flush out those areas anyway.

On the older honda cars that is the first thing that we would remove but over the years the sheet metal on the hondas have improved. I would leave them on but just remember to remove them and clean out whatever is stuck in them.

yes i agree, leave them on. i've never seen a civic rust out on the fenders since the 1996-2000 generation. Those ones had the rubber trim that surrounded the fender lip. every car ive seen with no sheild sand blasts the area that sheild is supose to be protecting. It also leaves any wire harness or srs crash sensors open to the elements.
