So around $1,000 give or take. That may be worth it for some. Not a bad investment. I drove a Chevrolet Cruze as a rental car one weekend and it had the keyless opening doors. It was so convenient when my arms were full of groceries. Didn't have to take the fob out of my pocket to unlock the door. Just pulled on the handle, doors unlocked, threw my stuff in the car, sat down and pushed the button, and then drove off. Didn't like the car but the feature spoiled me.

I think so, it's a useless function for single guys with no family

But like the previous post, it's one of the best function if your hands are always full of something.

As of now, i have to carry my 2 years old, a back pack, her toys, her toilet seat, always have 2 bags of groceries in my hand, when I drive the ilx, it's so easy, i just open the trunk, open the door without putting everything on the ground first and reaching for my keys.

But I will say this, i would pay extras for Acura to add sensors to the rear door handles, I always open the rear door first.

How do you guys plan on installing he push button start without running the smart key?

Even if you installed a push button start, you'd still have to put your key in the ignition and turn it on... the pre-14 key has the immobilizer in it which needs to been read by the transponder in the column. If you added a push button start, it would essentially have to work just like the S2000 and DC5 Type R.

Bringing this back from the dead, I searched all over and am ready to get this done. I have the dash kit and the oem start button along with a relay...I just don't know which pins I need to tap into for the start button or on the relay.

Someone had pm'd me a while back, but I can't find the message, only the links to this...no pics of what to tap into for the relay or button:

After reading this whole thread couldn't you just get the push button only then wire it in? Basically one end of the button goes to the ignition power, the other side goes to starter signal so when you push the button, it does the same exact thing as turning the key. Of course you still have to turn your key two clicks for it to work. Am I cheap lol? You would have to find a spot for the button though but you could just put it where the "JDM" one goes because there is nothing there right?

I have the push button...my question is how to wire it. I have the relay also that is needed. I'm just now sure which pins are which for the oem button.

As for your two wire idea, I believe that will fail
