That's good to know. I would say injectors are an unlikely culprit then.

That would also make some of the crappy short term fuel trims hard to explain as well... Unless the fuel is truly abysmal. Though I'm guessing you have good reason to doubt that. I'm sure you aren't the only one with a modified car around there. Surely there are others who run on the same gas and don't have the same issues?

He, out of any of them I would say, is the most experienced and most knowledgeable.

Keep us posted on where a second opinion gets you.
Absolutely.

One thing I would like to know is just how safe/unsafe those logs seem to be, this car had been running on the hondata basemap for several years since the last owners did not get it properly tuned. Original logs had lots of knock as well.

Honestly, the only thing that seriously concerned me was the WOT events. I would not go WOT on that map.

Most of your knock during casual driving is almost certainly phantom and just the sensor being oversensitive. I didn't see overly aggressive timing or poor A/F during any casual driving that I observed.

Now is that more knock than I would typically see in my car? Yes. Do all these cars behave the same? No.

The tuner isn't wrong that some cars see higher knock counts than others. However, it's been a suspect excuse from that organization in particular given how often you hear it from them.

Like I said, I'd love to see if another tuner can remedy your situation.

How are your sparkplugs? Over on the Accord forum, I've helped multiple people resolve issues with high knock control or knock count from worn plugs when under load. Had it happen to me too.

I agree, tuner also suspected false knock and said nothing seemed too dangerous, said that if I wanted to drive hard I needed to add octane booster as that seemed to help a lot but still had knock, had to add 16 ounces as adding a few did nothing.

Plugs are around the same age as the injectors, previous owner was going into limp mode due to a lightweight flywheel and almost ended up buying everything brand new, they do probably have some mmt residue from the booster, but I do have a new set laying around, I doubt they were gapped, could be a good time to swap and check.

Thanks for the help!
