Help! Clutch makes noise when ac is on...

sounds like something is loose

If I turn off the ac noise goes away too...the noise is from transmission area, more like inside the transmission.

Seems like a vibration issue because of what you're saying about the AC, the vibration is causing something to rattle.

The funny thing is that even the ac compressor is not moving it still makes that noise, as long as the ac button is on......maybe some kind of relay noise?

Lets get this thread going. I have a new 2013. 30 miles on the odo, same sound, but I find no relationship to the AC. If you push in the clutch, the sound goes away. New car break-in issue???

I took it to one of my friends shop have it lift it up with the ac running and I went under the car see if anything loose, I didn't find anything outside the transmission loose but I did see my clutch fork does this slight waving motion at idle. Maybe the pressure plate is not straight and touching the throw out bearing. Can any one with the si check see if their clutch fork is doing this slight waving thing when your feet is not on the clutch..only 400 miles on the car......

Sounds like a throwout bearing to me...I always have clutch problems on Hondas. I had my clutch replaced at around 34,000 miles. I have slightly over 36k now. It's not a warranty claim after 12k miles just to let you know. So if you're going to claim it then do it now

Could it be a belt tensioner and not clutch related at all? Why not take it in and ask them to check it out? I doubt it is your clutch with only 400 miles on your car. Weirder things have happened but that would be an odd occurrence for sure this early.

the problem is in no relation to the clutch, in no way or no how

sorry let me correct myself, the problem is not caused by the a/c being on. the problem is another problem within itself

The AC is not the cause of the noise but it helped the engine to vibrate enough to have that clutch or TO bearing to make that noise.

I send it in to the dealer 2 days ago and they just told me they can not duplicate the noise, I even make the MP3 and video of the noise for them and show them where the noise came from still ..they can not duplicate the noise and ask me to take the car back, does this sound familiar to anyone? LOL. my wild guess is that if dealer are not sure they can get paid by Manufacture they are unwilling to spend any time and labor to find out where the problem is. I am hoping this will not become the 2nd lemon for me from Honda.

The noise is on the driver side of the engine which is kind of far away from ac/belt/pulley stuff. I am thinking it might be the pressure plate finger is not evenly flat which is dragging the TO bearing or it's doing this grab and release thing.

How is yours going? can you make a video of the noise from your car?

My dealer also said "can not duplicate," even though I demonstrated it in the service bay the day before. Frustrating.

FWIW, you probably should let another dealer service dept look at it . . . or get Honda America involved right now and take it back to same dealer. It's got 400 miles on it! Sounds like a heat shield to me though.
