Hello I’ve pulled this climate control panel out which I was hoping to replace cheaply and but I am unable to find the part anywhere…well technically it can be ordered but it costs $600. I am trying to determine if there is another model of the climate control panel that is compatible?

This digital panel requires the primary 12v connector that provides power but it also has an additional connector that I believe controls the temperature. There is also a clear hose on the back - not sure what it is for. I pulled a climate panel from a 2012 Honda civic but the panel is not compatible with the hybrid 2012.

Again unit starts on circulate when car starts then randomly switches to fresh air mode after a few minutes.

any suggestions would be great.

That climate control panel might be from a from a Brazilian or Australian vehicle and the wiring pinouts are completely different than the Civic's here in the USA. The hose barb point and other connector are for the interior temperature sensor.

Interesting that the 2012 Civic Hybrid would have all digital button ac controls and the Civic EX-L came with knobs. It seems you have ac controls with heated side mirrors and seats so it will be even more difficult to locate. You may want to use a parts locator service like Hollander Parts to find this AC control panel.

You’ve been a major help. I’m shocked the 2012 Hybrids are using parts only available in Brazil and Australia. It’s even crazier that the part is so difficult to find. Had I know this I may not have bothered with buying this car. eBay.au has the part. Hollander parts looks like a potential source. Thanks again.

Longshot: maybe it's supposed to operate that way on that car? Have you looked at an owner's manual?

Technically the A/C should start with the recirculation flap open when the vehicle is first started, and it should switch the flap on once the interior temperature has cooled down depending on the digital temperature setting. Maybe you are having an issue with the solar sensor on the dashboard or interior ambient temperature sensor causing a problem. Check to make sure they're both connected, and the interior temp sensor should have a hose attached going into the blower case. Also, you may want to check the A/C pressures to make sure they're within specification because these vehicles seem to lose refrigerant with age.

I can’t speak on the sensors as they weren’t tested but I did have a comprehensive A/C test at several mechanics. Freon levels are fine, but all cited electrical problems and recommended a new compressor…. Are these hybrid compressors really all that different from the standard ones?
