Does anyone use Triax Global Synthetic auto transmission fluid? They claim to be OEM grade for DW-1.

Since it's not Honda, it's significantly cheaper than DW-1, but I don't want to be the customer the mechanic is talking to in the old Fram filter commercial: "You can pay me now, or you can pay me later."

Can it be used in a Honda 2003 Civic LX or a 2012 Civic LX?

Thanks in advance.

I would agree with Craig. OE is the way to go as far as trans fluid is concerned. Worth the extra couple bucks.

There have been multiple reports here over the years of degraded transmission performance after switching to non-OEM trans fluid.

Honda Automatic transmissions are very unconventional, in many ways resembling a manual transmission more than a standard automatic. I would expect fluid that wasn't designed specifically for a Honda AT might not work so well.
