Depending what is wrong most of the time the compressor can be repaired without be removed and that will save you a lot of money, I just fixed my 2014 honda civic hybrid compressor by my self with a $22 bearing from auto zone part# mt2031 and took me around 2 hours because was my first time and I was watching YouTube videos of how to do it, next time I can do it in less than an hour, if you're a handyman with the right tools you can do it too, Google have all the info needed. Another option is bypass the compressor with the $12 belt part# 400k4 from auto zone.

How does this work?
Probably doesn't that's why you haven't heard of it lol. Get it done properly rather than looking for some band aid fix that will probably cost you more down the road.
