Hi all;

I just tested the theory that the Civic Hybrid can be driven with the high voltage battery disabled. I removed the rear seats, opened the battery breaker, and flipped it off. It worked, the car was drive-able, however, when I plugged in my OBDII monitor I noticed an oddity - the 12V battery voltage was 11.8V (as opposed to 14V with the system working)! Why would the entire HV system be off?! The engine can still spin the electric motor, which can still generate high voltage (well, higher than 12V for sure)! Does anyone know what's going on? Is the car's electrical system running on the 12V battery?

I reconnected the HV battery and everything works now. I just wanted to make sure I could still get to work if the HV battery went bad.
