I'm looking at possibly replacing the head unit in my 2014 Civic Exl and found the Joying. I know there are better name brands out there, but can't afford now and figured I'd ask about this Joying. It claims to works with steering wheel controls and has all the features I'm looking for. But I'd never even heard of that brand til I started researching. Anyone have a Joying head unit? Experience? I'm hoping the steering wheel controls really do work as well as the stock reverse camera. Thanks forum!

This Joying head unit seems rather expensive for only 4GB of RAM memory with 64GB of ROM storage with a 1280x720 resolution screen using Android-10.0.

You should check out the newest Mekede M6 Pro Plus head unit with a Q-LED 2000x1200 resolution display with 8GB of memory with 256GB of storage using Android-12.0 for about the same cost. It has a 36-band EQ DSP with DTS 4.1 & 5.1 surround sound, and they have great customer service with the latest software downloads to keep the unit up to date.

They can be purchased on AliExpress or Alibaba.

You will also need the wiring harness with can bus adapter box part number: HD-RZ-06 and the dash panel kit for the 2013-2015 USA civics with LHD part number: MKD-F159.
Thanks. Does this work with steering wheel controls, and will it connect to my stock reverse camera? Or will I have to use a new one and run the wire?

Here's links to what I think Ill need.

It will interface perfectly with the steering control functions, but you will need to remove the stock reverse camera and install the supplied better-quality AHD reverse camera with higher resolution.

If you want the optional birds-eye view four camera system, it will have to be ordered at the time of purchase because it cannot be added to the unit later.

Also, if you want to purchase this unit, it would be best to contact the seller and have them supply the wiring harness with can bus adapter box and dash panel kit for your vehicle.

Sorry another question. Does the new camera fit in the slot where the stock one does, or do you have to drill new holes and install it? Thanks for all the help and info!

I removed the factory reverse camera and unscrewed it from the plastic angle mount bracket, then mounted the new camera to the factory bracket before attaching it back to the trunk lid. Also, it would be best to use the supplied camera cable in case you ever want to change it back to stock.

If you want to use the optional HD-DVR front & rear recording camera you can mount it behind the rear-view mirror and on the top of the rear headliner area.

Is it waterproof? If you get a chance can you get a picture of your camera install? Thx

Not yet. Been working on other more important parts like getting new Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 PLUS tires, and I just did my rear brakes with Raybestos pads. Next is front brakes. When I eventually do replace the head unit I'll be going with the Mekede like @X83 suggested.
