Have never seen this. Interesting but not $600 interesting. IMHO slow down or use the money for HFP suspension.
Will check out the install pictures though.

I'm sceptical. There's no explanation on the site how this device works. I've heard that interceptors don't work. Any idea how it's supposed to work?

not sure how florida works but in most states jammers are illegal. i feel you though because i got a ticket not too long ago, even with my escort passport radar detector. 2 good years the detector has kept me ticket free and this cop decided to pull me over for speeding up to overtake another car. no legitimate radar hit on me too..california sucks

I agree. California and Australia are the two hardest places to do business I ever tried. It's all due to fall off into the Pacific anyway. There goes the tax base....LOL!!

I agree that you shouldn't be speeding more than the average left-laner, but I'll spare you the lecture because hardwired gadgets are my thing. I imagine that this device is almost entirely stealthily tucked away under the dash, aside maybe from the sensors that I assume mount in the grille. So how would you get caught using this? The cop realized he can't grab your speed, pulls you over because of it, searches your car on probable cause of illegal radar jammer, and tickets you for said jammer? Or would he just chalk it up to eating too many donuts to aim straight that day?

I think he's saying he got a ticket for speeding, not for having the radar detector. And cops can give you a ticket for speeding without having a radar hit. They can pace you too and get your speed and give you a ticket that way.

Well the OP linked a Laser jammer so i'm pretty sure thats what he wants vs a detector. As others have said a jammer is illegal in almost every state in the US, where as detectors are only illegal in I think 2-3 states and every military installation. I don't feel a jammer is worth the money but if someone feels they need it then they need it. If anything he'll be a good test subject to see if those things are worth the money. Hopefully you won't get any more speeding tickets from using it.

There is plenty of info found with Google. Short version: Sensors detect radar/laser, then emit signal/infared beam to scramble it.

Here is a list.

This is exactly it. Obviously there can be error on their end, but if they have you in a "dead to rights" situation (where they have plenty of time to clock you) and they get no speed... you're going to have some questions to answer at the very least.

Virginia and Washington, D.C.

Even then you can fight it due to their law being based on a bogus interpretation of an FCC regulation.

Sounds interesting, looking forward to install pics, I've been only hit once with a speeding ticket and go figure its the only time I didn't have my passport detector on because the battery was dead.

My friend installed jammers into the grill of his MINI. From what I heard they did the job, and that is to buy you a few seconds to slow down when you see a cop. From what I remember they will not prevent the cop from getting your speed, but jam for a bit to let you slow down to the speed limit.

You can see in this pic at the bottom of his grill. A pretty sleek installation that not many would notice.

I used to have a pair of Cibie Flamethrower driving lights mounted on either side of the front license plate and used them as DRLs. After being shot several times by state troupers on the interstates and have them look funny at their guns, I had a cop friend target me in a controlled situation on a back road. Turned out the driving lights threw out enough IR light to scramble the laser gun. I was really sad when they finally rusted out after four cars and I discovered they were no longer being made.
