Hey now , I'm just trying to appreciate the setup, you posted and see what he's got under the hood. Everyone is so closed lipped about 9th gen k20/k24 swaps. For my build your right theres alot of calculation involved. And like I said I'm not there yet nor am I really trying to squeeze everything out of this. It's a street car . Cc head tech flow tests and will steer me in the right direction when we're ready. They havent told me what I would be making in power and I don't ask. It will make what it makes lol. So far what on my part list is is k24z7 rods, r40 cam gears, DC 2.2 cams , super tech springs, 3.5 custom vstack intake, PRC npr pistons stock bore, plm header, rbc, j37, type s oil pump , 3" custom exhaust, grams fuel pump, Rdx injectors, flash pro and I can't remember what bearings . It's not ground breaking stuff , there are hundreds of setups up like this. What you think 3d?Cams will definitely be the last purchase need to do a little more research and talk to people like yourself.

should i keep the stock rods from the k24z7? people run alot of franks with k24a2 stock rods, but from what i am seeing the k24z2 7 are different slightly. any thoughts? builder thinks i should just replace them since the pistons have to come out anyways. Scatt or Eagle aren't too expensive but this build is adding up. any thoughts? cough cough team3d

Sorry I'm a little late to the party. I'm searching for the nitty gritty details and info when it comes to the k24a2 cylinder head going on my k24z7 block. (Choosing this cylinder head for porting purposes). I understand a coolant port requires some weld to be built up and then decked and ground to match the H.G. I'm wondering what else? Any lists out there that could serve as a road map? I saw someone mention that there isn't enough room on the exhaust side for a turbo manifold and also the V.C. not fitting over a cam gear or something. I'm planning on going turbo after this cylinder head is machined, assembled, and installed.
Cylinder head is semi built.
Block is getting rods, pistons, oil pump, head studs. (Which I have none off yet)

Obviously it's a long road ahead of me, mainly financially even with all the stuff I've already gathered 🤣. Mechanically I'm not too worried about it at all, as I have a shop and most everything i need here. If not here my cousins shop is even better suited.

Any input would be appreciated. I've gone through and done most all the supporting components with the exception of a clutch 🤔
Things I do have: (wont list the stuff that isn't gonna swap over to the new cylinder head).
K24a2 cylinder head
Supertech 92lb springs
Titanium retainers
Ferra 6k series valves 35mm &30mm
Clutch master cylinder /slave cylinder
Return style fuel system
Grams fuel pressure regulator
Radium S.S. fuel filter
8an fuel line
1050x Injector Dynamics
400 deatchworks fuel pump
72 mm throttle body on stand by (currently running stock)
Skunk ultra street I.M.
Skunk exhaust all the way back
Hasport mounts (92)

I think you're best bet is to contact some of those guys on YouTube about their k20 head setup. I don't believe anyone here (or atleast no one publicly) has done this swap.

Don't forget to swap your oil pump. That is KEY to revving the motor higher. The OEM pump is a big restriction and weighs alot.

Nice build btw.
