Can you put in the k24a jdm motor in the 9th gen si? If so what’s all needed? https://dallasjdmmotors.com/honda/engines/k24a-rbb/

You're in the Honda world baby ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!!!

all jokes aside, yes its possible but its not a straight drop in. If I'm not mistaken the biggest issue in terms of getting it to physically fit in the engine bay is the exhaust header. The K24A header is a 4 port, the original 9th gen Si engine (K24z7) has a singe port exhaust. So you're going to have to get a custom one made, buy a custom one pre made (only seen one and it was stupid expensive), or do what I've seen others do and bang the 4 port exhaust header with a mallet to make it fit / clear the firewall. I know the placement of the oil filter is different on the K24A as well, but I don't think that's an issue as its common to relocate it to that same spot on the K24Z to run different oil pump setups that require an adapter.

now for ECU/electronics and all that you could get it work just fine but you'd have to have a ktuner or flashpro to get everything to work correctly. This is almost certainly something that has been discussed in depth @ K20a so I would search over there and/or ask around, a lot of super technical guys over there

I'm not familiar with other K series motors, but what would be the benefits of a K24A motor compared to our stock K27z7 motor? :)

I’m not completely sure but my motor is done for and a lot of people swap the k24z3 or k24a because they’re practically the same motor, some even say it’s better but I don’t know any truth to that

Ah okay, I'll have to read up on it some more to learn some. :)

Could you link me the exhaust header that would work. Been looking for one online and can’t find it. If not i guess I’ll have one made
I believe the k24a was the one in the TL that has vtec on both intake and exhaust side unlike our z7.

You would need an aftermarket exhaust manifold or a 4 to 1 connection and some custom piping from there to the catback.

Oil filter might be relocated and you can upgrade to the type s oil pump too.

It pretty much drops in otherwise using the same engine and trans mounts

What’s the power differences? Also yeah I figured I would need a custom exhaust mani but I can’t find one online. Should I just get one made or do you know of any?
Anyone have an air filter box and tube to throttle body?
I think the compression ratio is smaller than our z7. A boosted z7 will make more power than a boosted a4.

It’s more of trying to get the car na maxed out that people do the swap.

You are better off doing a head swap on the z7 if you wanted to stay na

I'm still looking, i wasn't able to find it yesterday. 15whiteSi on here has a youtube channel and he has a video talking about this, it might be helpful to you:

Waste of time and money only for it to not even run properly with the car.
You're better off boosting the stock z7 for some pep.

you need a custom header, Hytech makes one for the 9th Gen but it is about $1,500 or more. You can also use a PLM header, but you have to modify it to fit. In the long run I think a k24a/k24a2 is a better investment because you will just waste more money on modifying the k24z7 block to fit a true vtec head on there, and the relocating the oil filter. It will be pricey as well VS the k24a that already has true vtec ( vtec intake and exhaust cams), allowing more air to flow into the motor and out through the exhaust VS only intake vtec on the k24z7. Also a type s oil pump is easy to modify for the k24a vs modifying and relocating the oil filter for the k24z.
I have a K24Z2 and just found a K24A2 head I'd like to swap in for a NA build. I'd like to eventually go supercharger down the road. Before I bolt the head on should I look for better pistons or retainers for strength. I'm shooting for a 300hp car, nothing crazy as I still want to daily the car.i have the RRC manifold and j35 throttle body running Ktuner v2 now.
