Can I learn how to tune the car myself instead of having someone else do it.
Yep.But there is a lot to learn how all the tables work. The KTuner programmer has joined the forum and will chime in to help answer questions.

If we had enough people interested in tuning there own cars we could setup a tuning course of the basics.Anybody down for that?

Most things I get into, I get into, and like to do the nuts-n-bolts, nitty-gritty, myself. If I go in for the parts, then I'll want to learn how to tune, as well.
Hey Scotty did you check out EFI101?I have contacted the EFI101 Operations Manager asking for any info available to the public.:)

Should be almost the same to 8th gen. That is around 160-165 whp out of NA on manual. Automatic should be 15-20 whp less.
Huh?The AT makes 20 less HP at the wheels.

It all depends on the fuel delivery and the R18a1 with FP got 5 hp but I ran the numbers and if you can change the redline and cam phasing I think 160 could be had at around 7200 rpms. Lots of variables but also a lot of possibilities especially as parts and different cams come in.

Never ran a tuner in the newer Hondas but I use premium and its night and day between the two. It also depends on what can be tuned and knock limits but that is fuel related. The B16 tuned was awesome but I was afraid to rev it past 7500 rpms. It had a 9000 redline.
I was told by Vitviper you can't change the cams crossover on the R 18 or adjust they in any way. That was on my 09 R18.

It's important to get professional advice from a experienced tuner before changing the values in the ECU.So proceed at you own risk.Vitviper did more then 20 revisions on my 09 R18 with a AFR then a MAP tune. Its mor complicated then you might think.I spent a lot of time following the calibrations changes.

R18 does not have cam phasing.

It has eco vtec that engages a 'high cam' lobe in the cruising rpm range for fuel economy.
What about adding larger injectors for more HP on a NA R18?

And congrats on the new Baby Vit.^^^^^

Cool.So then adding a intake, exhaust plus bigger injectors will produce more power then the intake and exhaust alone?

Im wondering how the Econ button is going to work now.I speculate it just changed the throttle plate and shift points IMO.

Yea I'll be looking into the Skunk cam.;);):)The KT Facebook page is looking for testers BTW for the R18.

Heck we can also tune for higher octane for a few more ponies.

i got the cams instock, i will hook you up
Thanks^^^^Have you then sold any of these?Ive swapped a cam in my 03 bug it wasn't too hard but a vtec head I suspect is a bit more involved.Ive googled a DIY for the R18 cam replacement but couldn't find anything.

Let's get some questions posted guys.Like,Are there going to be base maps that match specific brand intakes and exhausts?

I've found from past experience the R18 will drone because of a resonance in the 3500 RPM range
with the Injen axle back and Borla axleback. So I've modified a SI 8th gen HFP axle back to fit my car and don't have any drone what so ever.I was sure a SRI would drone also so I've installed the Takeda Retain intake that uses the stock resonator.Im interested in power not drone.I did have the K&N SRI and a Vibrant catback on my 8th R18 and that drone no matter what Vit did with the tune wouldn't go away. But he pulled 16 HP outa my 8th drone and all.Now with this tuner we shall see what the R18 can lay down with my current intake and exhaust.
