Basemaps? Yes
Learn to tune yourself? There are programs like EFI101 if you want to fast track your studies. Books and hands on experience are your other likely path to learning.
This is being released with NA support first. Those of you not interested in NA support will have to see where the platform goes.

Tuning will make a difference for the R18 but that also depends on how much the stock fuel system can handle. This is just the start of the aftermarket now that it can be tuned.
We'll find out how much room there is soon enough. I hear there are already parts in the works now that this will be available.

We've been successful with all avenues of testing. Special thanks to Ghostmonky for being the very first remotely flashed 9G R18.

A version covering 2012 and 2013 NA applications could be out as early as this week with factory maps included, so you can begin getting tuned or e-tuned. We'll be adding some tuned basemaps later. We're currently conducting some parts testing. Why would I release before the basemaps? I imagine some dealers will be offering Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals. I'd hate for you guys to miss out on that.

It's a first release.

Will this work for the 2014 cvt's?
When 2014 support gets released.

That does not yet include 2014, as it's not mentioned.
^^But FI support will be released later at some point?

If the R18 platform explodes I'd love to give you guys more options moving forward.

Keep us posted on your Ktuner , GhostMonkey, Congrats on being the first!

Between the competitors, May the best Tuner win!

A word of wisdom to large sales, SIMPLICITY, If you make a base stock tune giving that stock engine all the HP and Torque it can get, and a tune for a cai and exhaust doing the same, giving it all the HP and torque the R18 can get with those simple two mods, You will sell to the average not mechanically inclined R18 civic owner ,that can buy, Plug and play. You will have sales through the roof!

I am leaning way toward the Ktuner as my choice of tuner, The nearest competitor blew me and other R18 owners off, as well as a tune writer that has connections to that company, saying our R18 was a joke, So when you dig one ditch, you better dig another one.

Rock our world Ktuner!!
Thanks. The plan would be to have basemaps in the software like I do for other platforms. Releasing early with the factory map only is so dealers like Vit can run a special for Black Friday/Cyber Monday as a remote tuning bundle.

How about 37820-R1P-U55 ecu ? Ktuner support that?
Yes, support for that platform can certainly be added soon. :)
Works with all factory tools. They won't even notice.
Should only be a few weeks for 2014 support. :)
All 2012 and 2013 are supported, MT, AT, 49 state and California versions.

From what I understand FlashPro offers speed density tuning support for 2012 and Vit prefers speed density for the Si platform. KTuner does not yet have this support. Please contact him directly for your needs.

2012 and 2013 is in the software already. It's ready for anyone who orders this week.
Correct. You guys here are getting access to this first via Vit's BF/CM sale so there's no reason to post it publicly to the site yet. I'll probably do that later this week.

I just received a call from Canada asking whether their part numbers are compatible. At this time I have no information on the Canadian PNs. If someone with a Canadian model would like to know for sure, check the part number on the ECU found in the engine bay and I'll let you know whether it's compatible.

I'll be dropping off my 2012 Si with KTuner in a few hours.
Thanks again, DWils. Here's how the dyno session turned out. Stock tune vs tuned on KTuner, Full-Race HFPC and Exhaust. Looks like you'll have to open the image link in a new window to get the full size. :)
