We had a meeting this morning to break the bad news, just as we were up to 100% production and starting overtime. After seeing some photos they showed of our Honda Plant and a parts supplier plant under 4 feet of water there isn't much I can complain about, things could be worse, we could be living over there dealing with something like that.

I'm not in a position to say but if you read the article, production being cut in half across north america so my best guess is it's going to be late.

Honda Canada slowdown blamed on Thai flooding

Honda Canada slowdown blamed on Thai flooding - Business - CBC News

Honda's assembly plants in Canada will be part of a dramatic international slowdown by the Japanese automaker, which is suffering from a parts shortage due to flooding in Thailand.

Starting on Wednesday, Honda's production from its six North American factories will be cut to 50 per cent of the original plan for about a week.

Honda doesn't plan any North American layoffs but it will cancel all Saturday overtime work through November.

The company said it will also schedule a non-production day Nov. 11, which is Remembrance Day in Canada.

On Honda's non-production days, employees can either report to work, use a vacation day or take the day off without pay or penalty.

The company said more than 92 per cent of the vehicles it sells in Canada were made in North America but a small number of parts come from Thailand.

Japan's tsunami affected production earlier
"As the flooding in Thailand continues, a number of Honda suppliers in Asia currently are unable to maintain parts production, which is disrupting the flow of parts to our production operations in North America," the No. 2 Japanese carmaker said in a statement Monday.

It's the second time this year that natural disasters abroad have affected Honda's North American manufacturing plants.

The earthquake and tsunami that devastated parts of northern Japan in early March had a major impact on several companies, particularly Honda and Toyota, and contributed to a slowdown of the Canadian and American economies in the second quarter.

In Canada, Honda has an engine plant and two assembly plants that employ about 4,600 people in the central Ontario community of Alliston, near Barrie.

The Honda Canada plants produce the Acura CSX Sedan, Honda Civics and other vehicles, including sport utilities.

I was given a Nov 8th to 14th delivery date of a Si coupe (Ontario Canada) I even confirmed this today with the dealer. If this gets put off again, I'm going to consider other options.

Can't say for sure but if that date was accurate chances are it's built already, you may get lucky.

Statement from Honda Canada

Honda Canada

Re: Impact of Thailand Flooding on Honda’s Automobile Operations in North America
The Honda family of companies in North America would like to express its deepest sympathy and concern for the victims of the devastating floods in Thailand and the sincere hope for the earliest possible relief and recovery from the damaged areas.
As the flooding in Thailand continues, a number of Honda suppliers in Asia currently are unable to maintain parts production, which is disrupting the flow of parts to our production operations in North America. To better manage the available parts supply in North America and globally, effective November 2, Honda will take the following actions:
Honda will temporarily adjust automobile production at all six Honda auto plants in Canada and the U.S. Currently, it is anticipated that this situation will require adjustments for the next several weeks.
Auto production will be at approximately 50% of the original plan through November 10. Subsequent adjustments will be announced as they are determined, based on the parts supply situation.
The current production plans at all of Honda’s vehicle assembly plants in Canada and the US includes:
All Saturday overtime work to be cancelled through November
A non-production day is scheduled for Friday, November 11

Note: The on-sale date of the all-new 2012 Honda CR-V could be delayed slightly. The CR-V on-sale date for Canada will be announced in the near future.
In 2010, more than 92 per cent of the Honda and Acura vehicles sold in Canada were produced in North America. While the vast majority of parts and materials used to produce these vehicles are purchased from suppliers in North America, a few critical electronic parts are sourced from Thailand and other regions of the world. Honda is working closely with its suppliers in Thailand and throughout its global network to re-establish the flow of parts for the vehicles made in North America.
As in the past, Honda remains focused on minimizing the impact to its associates and their families, and plans no layoffs at any of its North American facilities. Non-production days will continue to be treated as “no pay, no penalty,” meaning Honda associates can report to work, use a vacation day or take the day off without compensation or penalty.
Honda deeply regrets any inconvenience this may cause to its customers, and is working closely with its suppliers and operations throughout the world to overcome this situation.

Thanks... I really appreciate the info! The dealer said they'd get back to me before the end of the week with a VIN# for my insurance needs... so my fingers are crossed...

It says right on your door piller where it was built, 80% of the units built in Alliston Ontario go to the US, Canadian market is very small in comparison. ALL Si's 2 or 4 door are built in Alliston, the 2 door is exclusive to Alliston so they all come from here. Indiana only builds 4 Door non Si models and the natural gas model. Can also tell by your VIN, if it starts with a 2 it came from Alliston, 1 from Indiana or J from Japan.
