So I have a 2015 honda civic ex and everytime I drive their's this chain rattling noise coming from the right side area of the passenger side, it's only when I accelerate around 1500-1800 rpms once over that it goes away but not completely until I go bck to a lower speed. I already changed the tensioner, idler pulley, the harmonic balancer, on that area. But still making the noise while I drive also before all this I took it somewhere else and they said the tensioner had playback and forth but since then got it replaced brand new oem and still making noise.

How many miles? Is it the original timing chain?

Only does it when I drive and when I took it to a repair shop they said it might be the power steering or alternator or water pump but mine is an eletric power steering and the alternator we switched it out and tryed a new one and it still made the noise, the water pump is the only one I haven't changed

Posting audio might help. I had my water pump blow a couple months ago, and it was making a noise for a few months leading up to that, but I wouldn't say it sounded like chain rattle.

It even does it when I put my car in drive but if I have the emergency brake on and rev it too those rpms it will make the noise

If I were you, I'd take the serpentine belt off, and spin that water pump by hand and see how it feels. Either that, or just have the shop replace it. If it is failing like mine was, you don't want it to blow when you're driving, because that caused half my coolant to dump out.

Ok got it thank you. will do, that but also when I took it to the shop they power braked the car and heard the noise when they took off the serpentine belt the noise went away and as soon as they put it bck it made the noise I changed the tensioner, the idler pulley, harmonic balancer, changed the alternator but ran the car on the street and still made the noise so it wasn't the alternator either so the only two left would be the water pump and or powering steering pump but like they said to me, Mine is electric so their's no fluid to add to it so maybe repair the water pump like you said if that helps? I mean my car hasn't overheated or anything which is good.

This car has an electric rack, no ps pump

Ok thank you lol, I guess I'll just change the water pump and hope that's the case 🤞🏽
Yeah for what's it worth, mine wasn't overheating either. Water pump was working fine, the pulley was still spinning, just noisy. And then I was driving and the pump bearing exploded and the housing cracked, coolant dumped, belt came off and whipped around wildly, shredding the hood insulator.

Oh, dame sorry to hear that about your car. Mines been making this noise for who knows how long and I dont even know when I noticed it either it really just irritates me that I took it to so many ships and ppl can't find the problem and they hear the noise when I replicate it.

No worries, it's good as new now. Still think it would help to post a video so people can help diagnose it.

was the pcv changed with an aftermarket one?

the non honda replacements rattle like hell at certain rpm's had this issue on our 2015 EX and it drove me crazy until isolating it with a stethoscope.
pcv is in the back passenger side on the R18, rubber hose going to it.
