Anyone have a link to replacing this or some info that might help, dealership want 179 plus the part?
They are called a stealership for a reason, replacing the speed sensor is extremely easy. You can get a new oem sensor + new O ring for around $50 (part # 10 and 16). http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com...y4=KA6MT&catcgry5=MT+TRANSMISSION+CASE+(2.4L)
And for replacing it,
1. Unplug the sensor
2. Remove the 1 bolt that's holding the sensor in place
3. Wiggle the sensor out
4. Swap new sensor in
5. Tighten the bolt you removed
6. Plug the sensor back in
It's literally that simple and you could probably do it in under 30 minutes. Iirc, the oil level in the tranny is lower than the speed sensor so you wouldn't need to drain the MTF prior to the sensor swap (don't quote me on this).
I would put a plastic oil drain pan under the tranny as you pull out the sensor just in case, but i'm 95% sure the sensor is above oil level.
