I was the test dummy for this TBSpacer and it works. Buy them guys/girls, cause you're going to like it. If you think your 1.8 lacks at low throttle then buy it. Even with my ECON ON it made a huge difference. Throttle response is an immediate feel especially going from 2nd to 3rd gear.
So far its been two days and no codes thrown nor any problems.
I did an entire install, step by step, with pictures but do not know how to post it. Any help. (its in a Word Document)
I would like to thank THROWDOWN PERFORMANCE for making this happen with a free part for testing. Thank you guys for supporting our cause.
IMHO: Throttle body spacers are a scam and you are better off burning a stack of dollar bills. I have never seen a verified test the showed indisputable proof that they offer any tangible improvement to engine power or efficiency.
x2, they work in some applications, but not in ours. Surf the information superhighway for more details (<- most retarded thing I've said all day, but I'm leaving it). Or why it TB's are seen mostly as a SCAM.

i completely disagree with this....i have seen cars dyno'd before and after a TBS install and it does make a difference. Now the gains depend on several factors of course but there are proven numbers out there, i will see what i can find to back this up as well. not to mention i have used them on previous cars before myself, but mostly on my Silverado's
send me your word doc and i will see if i can post the walk through for you

Do 10 dyno pulls back to back and see what the margin of error is. I bet the "improvments" are within this margin of error. I understand they may have help old carburetor setups improve fuel mixture. I don't think R&D left HP sitting on the floor with something so trivial.
Look guys. Im not here to argue or discuss power gains with you or anyone on here. I did this so that everyone INTERESTED in the TBSpacer can purchase one. I know what i felt and feel everytime I drive the car. I am currently testing the old Short Ram Intake (which I paid for) and an exhaust system. Do you think i should leave those results off of the forums if they are not to your likings? Or maybe you should be thankful someone is doing this for you.
Moreover, I wanted to thank THROWDOWN PERFORMANCE for showing they care about our civic community by putting them out there for all the work they did for me. (p.s. they got the part ordered for me and shipped, all free)

There are a lot of things that are hotly debated. Its everyone's "right" to post their opinions and to aggregate data/facts. There is a lot of things out there that try and separate you and your money. If you are happy spending your money in this manner than you win. I am a believer in nothing and there has to be indisputable, unbiased proof for me to give up my dollars.
well, i do not know how to post a quote, nor can i figure it out. You "mikefxu" are missing the point of the thread. It was not put here so you can debate with someone about horsepower gains or "aggregate" data and facts. (start your own thread) You are correct about the "right" to post your opinions. But, being rude by talking down to someone you dont know is not cool. Especially, while that person is trying to help out others. Now, if you would like to start a private message, i would be happy to give you an address we can meet at, name, and phone number. Then, you can give me all the opinions you want in person?
Oh, and thank you Talon for helping me out.
I just reread our exchange and I do not feel I was being rude. I was explaining my perspective and opinion. Don't take it personal I just have very strong opinions and don't sugar coat anything.
If you look at the post that you want to quote or reply to there should be a button in the bottom right corner that says "quote" with two speech bubbles......click on that and it will quote it for you and then you can type what you want.
And guys, keep it friendly..... we are all here to learn
i dont have it on me. but i ll try to get it for you. i think i threw all that stuff away. it was the one they make for the 2011, and the same gasket. i know that much.
The "proof for Hater" is on an SI and its 4hp right b4 redline.
i understand how "just maybe" cuz the k-si engine is a high revving engine may show increase air velocity with a spacer at an incredible 7500rpm.
But what is the reasoning behind having it on the 1.8l?
I am doing my first oil change tomorrow and i am sure my switch to synthetic will gain more hp.
Hopefully this wont offend anyone, i could be missing something.
(Yet, if it comes with a vacuum port, that in itself makes it worth itfor nitrous and gauges.)
The spacer can do 2 things depending on intake manifold layout .
1) it will have an affect of increasing the plenum volume (this can improve performance in mid to upper range depending on manifold).
2) depending on IM it may help airflow for the first port (closest to TB). This depends on manifold layout, if you look at old K20A2 the #4 port runner is right at TB so spacer and porting entrance of IM may help flow .
I thought increasing the effective air intake length boosted low and mid range torque. Much lime the variable intake length on sport bikes today to spread out the power. As rpms go up the intake tube is pulled back.
Well, honestly im looking for low-mid range torque in my r18, im not looking to redline it on just daily street driving. When true numbers come out i might change my mind about spacers.
I have my p2r tbs on order. Should be in by Friday or Saturday. I will definitely be back on here with an update for everyone to let you know how the tbs matches up with my weapon r sri. Because the sri itself had a noticable difference.
I finally got and installed one on my 2012 r18. First of all, if you plan on installing it yourself you're gonna need extensions for your rachet to get in where gotta loosen and then tighten bolts. I already threw a weapon r s.r.I. in three weeks before so I already felt a noticeable increase in throttle response and power all through the rpm's. There is also a deeper "intake sound". After I installed the P2R Throttle body spacer it defintely seemed torquier down lower in the RPM's (around 3,000). To me it seems like "more usable power". Overall, more fun!
so hows the tbs treating you so far? and is your gas cap screen popping up?
