its a crimp on, I had an issue with mine and replace it with this one (set of two, but only needed one).

The issue was that the copper corroded and had a crack in the bottom so it wouldn't fit tight no matter how much you tightened the nut. It was easy to do just a little difficulty in taking the old one off. Also, if you replace the battery with an AGM battery next time you will never have to worry about corrosion again.
