Hi! Newbie Question. Im using R18 Engine right now. Is it possible to do a R18 block with an R20 Head? My Only mods are Full Exhaust And Aftermarket Short Ram Air Intake.

Out of curiosity is this even advantageous? I don't know anything about the R series engines, but with the vtec engines its traditionally been the smaller displacement motors that have higher cfm heads.

I've looked into this. The cam and intake valves are larger for the r20 head. So yes it would be quite the upgrade. I should've tried this when my head gasket failed. Totally forgot about the R20 head.

If you’re talking about a 9th gen R18(Z1) and an ILX(fancy 9th gen) R20(A1) don’t waste your time, they’re the same head, I have both of them torn apart sitting side by side, and there’s no difference in the heads...

The only reason the R20 heads “flow better” is because they use a 3 stage intake manifold instead of the 2stage that R18’s use
